the Night
The Winnipeg Jets overcame a 4-1
deficit in the 3rd period against the Carolina Hurricanes to win in
overtime. The incredible comeback capped off an amazing home-opening game. Lost
in the chaos, 2nd overall pick Patrick Laine scored his first NHL
goal off of an Ovechkin-esque shot from the left side. Winnipeg tied the game
at 4 with 1:29 remaining in regulation with the goalie pulled. In 3-on-3
overtime, captain Blake Wheeler fed Mark Scheifele at the side of the net with
a beautiful saucer pass to win the game.
