NHL Scores (10-16)

Anaheim Ducks (2) @ New York Islanders (3) (OT)

Buffalo Sabres (6) @ Edmonton Oilers (2)

Carolina Hurricanes (3) @ Vancouver Canucks (4) (OT)

Game of the Night

The Carolina Hurricanes were once again the victim of a 3-goal comeback by their opponent. They began the 2nd half of the game up 3-0 on the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena. Bo Horvat began digging the Canucks out of their 3-goal hole when he put them on the board at 12:03 of the 2nd period.
This allowed Vancouver to settle down enough to re-strategize on the bench. The goal also instilled some doubt in the psyche of the Hurricanes. The Canucks evened the score with 5:50 remaining in regulation. Brandon Sutter would once again be the hero for Vancouver, as he scored the game-winning goal just 32 seconds into the 3-on-3 overtime period.
The Hurricanes must now learn and grow through their early-season adversity. Holding onto their big leads will be key to improving their performance and boosting their confidence. Vancouver meanwhile has surprised many by starting the season with a perfect 2-0-0 record thus far. Many people didn’t expect them to hit a stride right out of the gate, but that’s just what they’ve done. Right now, it appears things are on the up and up in the city of Vancouver.
