Hitchcock Extended

         St. Louis Blues head coach Ken Hictchcock has been signed to a one-year contract extension. The 2016-17 season will likely be Hitchcock’s final season as an NHL coach. He said, “I just feel like I’ve got this really good year in me. This season has invigorated me like no season before.”

         The now 64-year-old has coached 19 seasons with the Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and St. Louis Blues. He’s 757-453-106, with 88 ties. He has the fourth most wins behind Al Arbour (782), Joel Quenneville (801), and Scotty Bowman (1,244). He won the 1999 Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars and the 2002, 2010, and 2014 Olympic gold medal with Canada.
